Rahul Gandhi accuses BJP of forcibly shutting Connaught Place shops

The Leader of the Opposition alleged that shop closures in Delhi caused financial losses to local traders during a rally.

Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of forcibly closing shops in Delhi's Connaught Place on Sunday, according to reports by The Economic Times and ANI.

Gandhi alleged that the closures caused financial losses to local traders during a march and mega rally held at Ramlila Maidan.

The Congress leader stated that participants had been encouraged to shop at local businesses, but found the establishments in Connaught Place shut when they arrived.

Gandhi said that people should be aware of who is causing these losses to traders and how it is happening.

The demonstration was part of the INDIA bloc's "Chalo Delhi" protest march, which included various opposition leaders protesting against alleged electoral roll issues.
