Ayodhya faced neglect and appeasement before 2017, says Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the temple town is now undergoing a phase of development and heritage preservation.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Sunday that Ayodhya experienced neglect and the 'acidic sting of appeasement' prior to 2017. According to a report by Daily Excelsior, the Chief Minister noted that the city is currently seeing a new era of development alongside the protection of its cultural heritage.

In a post on X, Adityanath claimed that before 2017, the city dealt with disorder and poor civic infrastructure. He stated that pilgrims previously encountered difficulties during visits and that local families had limited opportunities.

The Chief Minister mentioned that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the city's ancient glory has gained a new dimension through modern progress. He pointed to the building of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, Ram Path, Dharma Path, a modern railway station, and an international airport as evidence of this change.

Adityanath said that rising numbers of tourists are supporting local businesses and creating jobs for young people. He added that the benefits of this development are reaching households throughout Ayodhya.

The Chief Minister described Ayodhya as a centre of faith and identity for millions of Hindus. He said the city has become a symbol of prosperity and cultural consciousness, contributing to the vision of a 'Developed India, Developed Uttar Pradesh'.
