Amitabh Bachchan greets fans behind bulletproof shield at Jalsa
Abhishek Bachchan stood by his father during the Sunday darshan following an alleged bomb threat at the actor's bungalow.
MUMBAI: Amitabh Bachchan met fans outside his Jalsa residence on Sunday, November 1, while standing behind a transparent bulletproof shield. The veteran actor continued his weekly ritual of greeting supporters despite recent security concerns.
Abhishek Bachchan accompanied his father during the appearance, standing by his side and watching the crowd. Security personnel were also present at the Juhu bungalow during the event.
The increased security follows an alleged bomb threat reported to the Mumbai Police on Friday. An email was received by a school in the Bandra-Kurla Complex area, prompting an investigation by the police.
It is not yet known if the threat specifically named the Jalsa or Prateeksha bungalow. The actor recently noted on his Tumblr blog that he requires more rest to aid his recovery.
Bachchan previously mentioned that medical professionals suggested he reduce his regular online presence. He is currently hosting the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
