US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Japan's Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, and Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong in Atlanta on Saturday, according to The Hindu and The New Indian Express.
The ministers met on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting to discuss turning shared priorities into benefits for the Indo-Pacific region.
A statement from the Quad alliance noted that the ministers held serious concerns about economic coercion, which includes the use of arbitrary restrictions on exports.
Rubio stated on X that the United States, Australia, India, and Japan are delivering results by building open supply chains, supporting new technologies, increasing maritime cooperation, and securing critical minerals.
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said the meeting focused on providing impetus to bilateral relations and taking stock of cooperation.
This was the third Quad Foreign Ministers' Meeting of the year, following previous meetings in New Delhi in May and Manila in July.
A Quad leaders' summit is being planned for mid-November, to be hosted by US President Donald Trump during the ASEAN-East Asian Summits in the Philippines.
