Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday chaired a high-level review meeting of the security and administrative apparatus of the Kashmir division, according to the Hindustan Times.
Sinha instructed officials to maintain an aggressive and sustained crackdown on terror modules. He also emphasised the need to tighten counter-infiltration grids and improve coordination between the district administration, Jammu & Kashmir Police, the army, and Central Armed Police Forces.
The Lieutenant Governor directed DCs and SSPs to monitor anti-national elements within the administration and prioritise efforts to fight radicalisation. He requested monthly reviews concerning the seizure of assets held by narco-terrorists and those supporting terror activities.
Sinha stated that action against narco-terrorists must continue alongside efforts to target drug smugglers and peddlers to achieve a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir. He also called for the creation of district-level social media cells to address misinformation quickly.
Regarding public welfare, the Lieutenant Governor stressed the importance of resolving grievances and maintaining communal harmony. He also directed the administration to ensure the availability of essential goods and effective snow-clearance measures for the winter season.
