Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah married journalist Nidhi Razdan in a ceremony held in New Delhi on Friday, according to reports by The Hindu, Hindustan Times and The New Indian Express.
Mr. Abdullah, 56, announced the marriage on X on Saturday, stating that a new journey had begun. Ms.
Razdan, 49, also shared the news on social media.
Sources stated the union was performed under the Special Marriage Act with relatives from both families acting as witnesses. Family members, including Mr. Abdullah's parents Farooq Abdullah and Mollie, attended the functions in New Delhi and Srinagar.
This is the second marriage for Mr. Abdullah. He was previously married to Payal Nath in 1994, and the couple had two sons, Zahir and Zamir.
Their divorce was finalised by the Supreme Court on July 31, 2026, following a mutual consent settlement.
