The Uttar Pradesh chief minister paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on National Unity Day.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary and extended greetings for National Unity Day. According to the Hindustan Times, Adityanath stated in a social media post on X that every Indian must work to protect the national unity for which Patel dedicated his life.
The chief minister described Patel, known as the Iron Man of India, as a leader whose life showed that a country's power depends on being united. He said the principle of 'Nation First' is the root of the spirit of unity.
Adityanath alleged that before 2017, the political situation in Uttar Pradesh was weakened by casteism, dynastic politics, and appeasement politics. He claimed these approaches divided society and harmed social harmony.
The chief minister said the situation has changed under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that the state government now uses the 'Nation First' approach and the slogan 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas' in governance.
Adityanath also mentioned the annual Run for Unity held on this day. He encouraged citizens to participate in the event to show their commitment to the country's integrity and to keep the nation's interests foremost.
He added that Patel's dedication to the country continues to inspire the 'Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat' vision.
