Priscilla Chan says daughter explores technology through vibe-coding
The 10-year-old daughter of Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan is using AI tools to create software under parental restrictions.
Priscilla Chan recently shared that her 10-year-old daughter, Maxima, has started
vibe-coding
which involves using AI tools and natural language prompts to create software, according to the Times of India.
Chan told Colossus that Maxima has an innate desire to build things that the parents did not teach her. However, the child is restricted from building projects that are open to the internet.
Chan noted that Maxima wanted to build a dating site, but she turned the request down. The couple's approach to parenting involves encouraging creative exploration while setting boundaries regarding online builds.
Mark Zuckerberg has previously mentioned teaching his daughters basic coding through Scratch. The children have also used tools such as Replit, Google Docs, Kano, robots, and 3D printing.
The couple's second daughter, August, also explores technology through Minecraft and Scratch. August used Meta AI to help generate illustrations and a trailer for her book, The Mermaid Crystal.
Zuckerberg has shared that he enjoys building robots with his daughters using Raspberry Pi or Jetson hardware to run language models.
