Palolem Beach in Goa ranked sixth in global beach index
The South Goa beach is the only Asian location to feature in the top 25 list according to the Beach.com Global Beach Index 2026.
Palolem Beach in South Goa has been named the best beach in Asia and ranked sixth in a global list of the top 25 beaches, according to The New Indian Express on Sunday.
The Beach.com Global Beach Index 2026 evaluated locations using visitor feedback, expert suggestions, NASA data regarding water clarity, and 18 different criteria including climate and accessibility.
Palolem is the only beach from Asia to appear in the global top 25 list, according to the state Tourism Department.
Goa Tourism Minister Rohan A Khaunte said the international recognition shows the natural beauty of the coastline and the experiences that draw global travellers.
Tourism Director Kedar Naik stated that the ranking endorses Goa's international tourism position and will help promote South Goa.
The state is currently working to promote responsible tourism and year-round travel, including hinterland and nature-based experiences.
