ADNOC signs 10-year LNG supply deal with Gujarat Energy

The Abu Dhabi firm will provide up to 4 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas starting in 2028.

Abu Dhabi National Oil Co (ADNOC) has entered into a 10-year agreement to provide up to 4 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Gujarat Energy Ltd, according to reports from Siasat and The Hindu. The supply is scheduled to begin in 2028.

The deal represents the first commercial sale from XRG, the international investment arm of ADNOC. This agreement is the fifth LNG supply contract the company has secured with Indian energy firms, following previous deals with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), GAIL, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), and Bharat Petroleum.

Rashid Al Mazrouei, ADNOC's chief marketing and origination officer for LNG, said the agreement reinforces a commitment to providing reliable, long-term supplies. He noted that the company is using its integrated marketing platform to connect its international portfolio with customers in key global regions.

Gujarat Energy Managing Director Avantika Singh Aulakh stated that the partnership allows the two companies to join forces. She noted that the company operates a city gas distribution network across 44 districts in six states.

ADNOC's global LNG marketing and trading platform aims to market 47 million tonnes per annum beyond 2030. The company has previously signed supply agreements with Thailand’s Gulf Group and Japan's INPEX.
