Private bus crashes into tree in Kendujhar after tyre burst
At least 20 passengers sustained injuries when a bus travelling toward Keonjhar town hit a roadside tree on Tuesday morning.
At least 20 passengers were injured on Tuesday morning when a private bus crashed into a tree near Deuladiha Chhak in Kendujhar district, according to Pragativadi.
The accident occurred around 7:00 AM on the Khuntapada-Telkoi road. The bus was transporting over 40 passengers from Kaliahata toward Keonjhar town when the front tyre on the driver's side burst.
The burst caused the driver to lose control, leading the vehicle to strike a large tree by the roadside. The impact caused heavy damage to the front of the bus.
Local residents and commuters assisted at the scene before fire services personnel arrived to conduct a rescue operation. The personnel extracted the injured passengers from the wreckage.
All 20 injured individuals were taken to Telkoi Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Police have started an inquiry to investigate the incident and the maintenance status of the vehicle.
