The engagement between the Indian Navy and the Republic of Korea Navy focused on enhancing maritime interoperability and mutual understanding.
The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Sahyadri concluded its participation in the Indian Navy – Republic of Korea Navy (IN–RoKN) Bilateral Exercise at Busan, Republic of Korea, on October 29, 2026, according to Tripura Star News.
The exercise included a harbour phase where personnel from both navies participated in professional discussions, operational briefings, and Subject Matter Expert Exchanges.
During this phase, the navies also conducted cross-deck visits, cultural exchanges, and sporting activities to build interpersonal bonds.
The sea phase involved INS Sahyadri and ROKS Munmu the Great performing joint maritime manoeuvres, coordinated navigation, and helicopter operations.
These practical engagements allowed the two navies to practice coordination at sea and better understand each other's operating procedures.
The successful exercise is intended to deepen maritime cooperation and support efforts toward peace, stability, and security in the Indo-Pacific region.
