Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel distributed appointment letters to assistant teachers in Adalaj and indicated that 10,000 more positions will be filled.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel distributed appointment recommendation letters to 8,169 newly recruited Vidya Sahayaks, or assistant teachers, at Trimandir in Adalaj on November 2, according to The News Mill.

The Chief Minister noted that over 6,000 of the 8,169 appointees are women. He stated that the recruitment was merit-based and transparent, and he mentioned that the Education Department intends to hire approximately 10,000 more teachers soon.

Education Minister Pradyuman Vaja said the government has completed a recruitment of about 12,000 Vidya Sahayaks to strengthen primary education. He noted that 11,000 vacancies were for Gujarati-medium Classes 1 to 5, while roughly 987 vacancies were for other mediums.

Vaja said the government focused on technology and merit, and he encouraged teachers to use stories and experiments instead of rote learning to align with the National Education Policy.

Minister of State for Education Rivabaa Jadeja congratulated the new appointees, stating that educators help shape the character and personality of children. She added that education should combine basic literacy with values and technology.

The ceremony was attended by several officials, including Education Minister Pradyuman Vaja, Minister of State for Education Rivabaa Jadeja, and Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Chairman Mukesh Pandya.
