Three Border Security Force (BSF) jawans and several villagers were injured during a clash at Ashabari village in Tripura's Sipahijala district on Monday morning, according to reports from The Sentinel and The Tribune.
The incident occurred near the Ashabari border outpost after security personnel detained a person on suspicion of smuggling activities. A group of villagers allegedly attacked the jawans, vandalised a BSF vehicle, and attempted to snatch arms from the guards.
Police from Kalamchaura police station arrived at the scene to bring the situation under control. Authorities have arrested six villagers in connection with the incident, while others were taken to the police station for alleged involvement.
