The 85-year-old leader is undergoing medical tests at Ruby Hall Clinic and remains under observation as a precautionary measure.

NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar was admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune on Monday after complaining of pleuritic pain. According to reports by Deccan Chronicle and The Indian Express, the 85-year-old leader was brought to the private hospital following a bout of cough.

Baramati MP and NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule stated on X that Pawar is undergoing medical tests and that all his health parameters are stable. She noted that he was admitted following a bout of cough.

Senior NCP (SP) leader Ankush Kakade said the party chief went for a routine checkup to a city hospital. Kakade added that Pawar had been on a two-day visit to drought-affected areas and his health checkup was taken up because of exertion.

Dr Purvez K Grant, chief cardiologist, chairman and managing trustee of Ruby Hall Clinic, said Pawar's condition is expected to settle down. The doctor added that the leader will remain under observation as a precautionary measure.
