Bhopal: Man allegedly kills four family members before dying by suicide

The deceased reportedly slit the throats of his mother, wife, and two children before jumping in front of a train.

A man allegedly murdered four members of his family in Bhopal before taking his own life on Monday, according to ANI. The victims, identified by The Hawk as Saraswati Sahu, 50, Somlata Sahu, 29, Kriti Sahu, 10, and Khush Sahu, 6, were found in their residence in the Malikhedi area.

The bodies of the four family members were discovered with their throats slit. The man, identified by The Hawk as 35-year-old Narendra Sahu, was found near the Sukhisewaniyan railway tracks, where his body had been split into two parts after he jumped in front of a train.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjeev Pathak told ANI that the deceased had the keys to the house, suggesting he committed the murders before heading to the tracks. No suicide note has been found so far, reported The Hawk.

Police stated the man had been jobless for some time and faced financial difficulties. Additional Commissioner of Police Shailendra Singh Chauhan told ANI that the man had previously taken loans for a restaurant business that did not succeed and may have sold his house due to debt.

An investigation is currently underway to determine the exact motive and sequence of events. Authorities are awaiting the results of post-mortem examinations to establish the cause of death.
