Marico Q2 net profit rises 31 per cent to Rs 550 crore

The consumer goods firm reported a 13 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue from operations for the July-September quarter.

Marico reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 550 crore for the quarter ended September 30, marking a 31 per cent year-on-year increase from Rs 420 crore in the same period last year, according to Moneycontrol and Financial Express.

The company's consolidated revenue from operations grew 13 per cent year-on-year to Rs 3,897 crore. EBITDA margins rose by 200 basis points to 18.2 per cent, which the company stated was its strongest EBITDA growth in 50 quarters.

The India business revenue increased 10 per cent year-on-year to Rs 2,916 crore. This was supported by 10 per cent underlying volume growth, driven by demand in hair-care, foods, and premium personal care.

Flagship brand Parachute recorded 13 per cent volume growth, its highest in 22 quarters. However, Parachute revenue grew by approximately 1 per cent, which the company attributed to price reductions at the beginning of the year to pass on lower copra costs to consumers.

The foods portfolio, including brands like Saffola oats, Cosmix, True Elements, 4700 BC, and Plix, grew 45 per cent. Meanwhile, the international business grew 13 per cent in constant currency terms, supported by growth in Vietnam, MENA, and South Africa.

Marico expects to deliver teen revenue growth in FY27 and cross the Rs 15,000 crore revenue mark. The company also expects to achieve mid-twenties EBITDA growth in FY27.
