Gujarat launches AC Vista Dome coach bus service at Statue of Unity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new premium bus service to enhance tourism across the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first AC Vista Dome Coach bus service at the Statue of Unity, according to reports from The News Mill and ANI. The service is a joint initiative by the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) and Gujarat Tourism.

The five exclusive buses were manufactured in India to international standards. Each vehicle features a transparent dome-style roof designed to let passengers view the sky and surrounding landscapes from an air-conditioned interior.

Each bus has a capacity for 23 passengers with reclining and revolving seats. Amenities provided include a mini refrigerator, mobile charging ports, a tea and coffee machine, CCTV, and an LED Smart TV. Safety features include toughened glass, emergency hammers, and fire detection and suppression systems.

The exterior of the buses displays graphics of various sites, such as the Somnath Temple, Gir National Park, and the White Rann of Dhordo. Each bus is priced at ₹2.19 crore.

Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said that similar services will be rolled out at other heritage routes and tourist spots in Gujarat in the coming months. While two buses have been launched, the remaining three are expected to start service within two months.

Tickets for the new service are available for booking through the GSRTC website.
