Air passengers must fill mandatory self-declaration form before arriving in India

The Bureau of Immigration stated that the Air Suvidha Self-Declaration Form is required for Indian passport holders, OCI cardholders, and foreign nationals.

The Bureau of Immigration has reminded all air passengers arriving in India from abroad that they must mandatorily complete the Air Suvidha Self-Declaration Form (SDF) before arrival, according to the Times of India.

The requirement applies to Indian passport holders, OCI cardholders, and foreign passport holders. The bureau stated on X that the form is not optional and must be completed before arrival.

The Directorate General of Health Services (Dte. GHS) issued a travel advisory in June 2026 mandating the form in view of an ongoing Ebola disease outbreak. The online form allows international travellers to declare their health status and travel details as part of COVID-19 screening measures.

Passengers can fill the SDF up to 72 hours before arriving in India, preferably alongside web check-in. While up to four family members can be added to a single portal submission, each co-passenger will have an individual SDF that must be downloaded for immigration and public health clearance.

Travellers should have a valid passport, flight ticket or boarding pass, address of stay in India, and contact details ready for the form. The advisory requested passengers to fill the form timely to ensure smooth arrival clearance at airports.
