Bihar couple starts noodle business under PMFME scheme in Sheikhpura

Sanjay Kumar and Ranjana Kumari have employed 10 people through their food venture, Smriti Noodles, after receiving government assistance.

A couple from Bihar's Sheikhpura district, Sanjay Kumar and Ranjana Kumari, have launched a noodle-manufacturing business through the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme, according to The Hawk.

The venture, named Smriti Noodles, currently employs 10 people on a regular basis, including both men and women from the local area.

Ranjana Kumari, a former homemaker, told IANS that she sought to start a business due to financial difficulties in covering household costs and children's education.

The couple used government assistance under the PMFME scheme to install the machinery required to begin production.

Sanjay Kumar said the business has provided his wife with a new identity and that they now receive orders from nearby districts such as Nalanda, Nawada, and Rajgir.

Kumari expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating the scheme provided essential support for women in her position.
