Gujarat launches premium Vista Dome bus service at Statue of Unity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new air-conditioned coach service featuring transparent dome-shaped roofs for tourists.

The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) and Gujarat Tourism have introduced a premium 'Vista Dome' coach service at the Statue of Unity, according to The Hawk. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first service and travelled in one of the coaches.

The new air-conditioned buses feature transparent sky-view roofs designed to let passengers view the landscape and open sky. Each coach has a seating capacity of 23 passengers and includes revolving, fully adjustable reclining seats.

Amenities in the buses include a mini refrigerator, a coffee and tea-making machine, mobile charging facilities, CCTV cameras, and a premium LED smart television. Safety features consist of toughened glass, emergency hammers, and an advanced fire detection and suppression system.

Each bus costs Rs 2.19 crore and features exterior graphics of various sites, such as Gir National Park, Somnath, and the White Rann of Dhordo. Of the five coaches planned under this initiative, two have been inaugurated.

Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said that similar services will be rolled out at different heritage routes and tourist locations across Gujarat in stages. The remaining three buses are expected to start service within the next two months.

Passengers can book tickets for the service through the GSRTC website.
