Yash's son cried during Ramayana premiere in Los Angeles
Actor Yash's seven-year-old son became emotional during a scene where his father's character kills Jatayu.
Actor Yash revealed that his children, Ayra and Yatharv, attended the world premiere of Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles on October 27. According to the Times of India, this event marked the first time the children had viewed a movie in a cinema hall.
During a media interaction, co-star Sai Pallavi, who plays Sita, said that Yash's son, Yatharv, became upset during the scene where Ravana kills the vulture Jatayu. Sai Pallavi recalled that the boy told Yash, “I didn’t like you killing that bird.”
Sai Pallavi noted that while the child understands his father is an actor, he still felt the action was not good, even within a film. Yash said he was surprised by his son's reaction, noting that the children are still learning how to behave and respect others.
Yash also discussed the difficulty of portraying Ravana. He said his goal was to make the audience believe the character was invincible and to move beyond a simple portrayal of evil by showing the character's motivations.
The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. ‘Ramayana’ is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026.
