Three family members found dead in Changanassery residence
Police suspect suicide after a man, his wife, and their son were discovered dead at their home in Kottayam on Saturday.
Three members of a family were found dead at their residence near SB College in Changanassery, Kottayam, on Saturday, according to South First.
The deceased have been identified as 64-year-old Saju Antony, his wife Anu, 54, and their son Sabin, 34.
The bodies of the couple were located in a bedroom, while Sabin was found in a separate storeroom.
Relatives alerted the police after they were unable to reach the family by phone and visited the house to check on them. Changanassery police subsequently broke open the door.
A preliminary police inspection has not revealed signs of foul play or external violence. While police suspect suicide, they noted that financial difficulties may have contributed to the deaths.
The family previously operated a grocery store and currently runs a homestay on the upper floor of the house. Changanassery police have registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation.
