PV Sindhu wins Hylo Open title in Germany

The second-seeded Indian defeated Denmark's Line Hojmark Kjærsfeldt in straight games to secure her second title of the season.

Double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu won the Hylo Open Super 500 title in Saarbrücken, Germany, on Sunday, according to the Times of India. The 31-year-old defeated Denmark's Line Hojmark Kjærsfeldt 21-12, 21-14 in a final that lasted 39 minutes.

The victory marks Sindhu's second title of the 2026 season, following her win at the Japan Open in July. The win in Germany also earned her 9,200 ranking points, which she needs to remain in contention for the BWF World Tour Finals.

Sindhu reached the final after defeating compatriot Anmol Kharb in the semifinal on Saturday. The 19-year-old Kharb lost the match 21-13, 21-16 in 32 minutes.

The second-seeded Indian had previously finished as the runner-up at the French Open last week. This win in Saarbrücken follows her strong run in Paris as the season approaches its conclusion.

Kjærsfeldt, the world No. 25 and eighth seed, was unable to match the pace of the former world champion during the final. Sindhu held a 6-1 head-to-head record against the Danish player heading into the match.
