Global beverage majors advance India IPO plans

Carlsberg, Pernod Ricard and The Coca-Cola Company are progressing with potential listings of their Indian businesses.

Global beverage companies Carlsberg, Pernod Ricard and The Coca-Cola Company are advancing plans for potential listings of their Indian businesses, according to The Economic Times. The companies are at different stages of preparation to tap the domestic capital market.

Danish brewer Carlsberg has filed an updated draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on October 28. Carlsberg Chief Financial Officer Ulrica Fearn said the company is engaging in follow-on activities, including setting up interactions with potential investors.

Carlsberg Chief Executive Officer Jacob Aarup-Andersen stated that the IPO is progressing but did not provide details on the timeline or outcome. The company reported a 2.2 per cent decline in revenue to Rs 8,708.8 crore for FY26.

French spirits maker Pernod Ricard is continuing preparatory work for a potential IPO of its Indian business, which is currently awaiting board approval. Executive Vice President, Finance and Technology Mauve Croizat said the board asked the company to continue preparatory steps to be ready for a possible decision in the coming months.

The Coca-Cola Company is exploring a potential IPO of its Indian bottling operations through Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings. President and Chief Financial Officer John Murphy said the company is exploring the listing and will provide updates as appropriate.

Coca-Cola previously announced in June that initial preparations were underway for a potential listing on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange.
