Gold and silver rates in India fall towards December 2025 levels
Precious metal prices declined on Sunday as inflation concerns and US Federal Reserve outlook weighed on investor sentiment.
Gold and silver prices in India saw a decline on Sunday, November 1, 2026, according to a report by Mint. Gold with 99.9 per cent purity dropped by ₹3,200 to ₹1,42,000 per 10 grams, including all taxes, citing the All India Sarafa Association via PTI.
The price of gold on Sunday was lower than the Friday close of ₹1,45,200 per 10 grams. The current rate is approaching the level of ₹1,42,300 per 10 grams recorded on December 26, 2025.
Silver prices also fell, dropping from a previous close of ₹1,90,200 per kg to ₹1,86,000 per kg, including all taxes. This decline follows a surge to record highs in January 2026.
Gaurav Garg, Head Research at Lemonn, said gold slipped below $4,000 due to stronger US inflation data and expectations of a December Fed rate hike. He noted silver is facing selling pressure from broader precious metal weakness and industrial demand concerns.
Rahul Khetawat, Senior Vice President and Fund Manager at 360 ONE Asset, said gold and silver prices were weighed down by rising energy prices, inflation concerns, and hawkish US Federal Reserve commentary.
Siddharth Maurya, Founder and Managing Director of Vibhavangal Anukulakara Pvt. Ltd., said gold prices may move in a range bound manner due to a stronger dollar, rising bond yields, and rising interest rates.
