Delhi Police bust interstate cocaine network and arrest four people

The arrests include a Ghanaian national and the recovery of 136 grams of cocaine allegedly supplied to pubs and bars.

The Delhi Police have busted an alleged interstate cocaine trafficking network operating in the Delhi-NCR region, according to The Tribune. Four people were arrested, including a Ghanaian national, and 136 grams of cocaine were recovered.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Hukumuddin, Jabid Hussan, Mushtaq, and Charles Owusu, alias Johnson. Officials said the network allegedly supplied cocaine to young people at prominent bars and pubs in Gurugram and South Delhi.

The investigation began on May 26 when the Crime Branch received information regarding Hukumuddin, a resident of Chhatarpur. A team from the Western Range-II unit apprehended him near Dwarka Sector 9 after he allegedly attempted to flee, recovering 106 grams of cocaine.

Following interrogation, Hukumuddin allegedly disclosed he procured the drugs from Jabid Hussan, a resident of Kharak village. Jabid Hussan was arrested in Nuh, Haryana, on August 17, and allegedly identified Mushtaq as his source.

Mushtaq, a resident of Kharak village, was arrested on August 18 and allegedly named Charles Owusu as the supplier. During a raid at Owusu's rented accommodation in Devli Extension, Khanpur, on October 20, police recovered 30 grams of cocaine and a digital weighing machine.

Owusu, a 36-year-old Ghanaian national who arrived in India in 2023 on a tourist visa, allegedly identified a Nigerian national named David as a supplier. Police are currently investigating the financial trail and the source of the cocaine.
