Diljit Dosanjh criticises Cockroach Janata Party at Delhi concert

The singer addressed remarks regarding his film Satluj and his previous comments on exam paper leak protests during his tour opening.

Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh addressed critics, including the Cockroach Janata Party, during his Aura India Tour 2026 concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Friday.

Dosanjh spoke about the reaction to his previous statement that he is just an artist, which followed a fan's question regarding exam paper leak protests. The Cockroach Janata Party leadership, including Abhijit Dipke, had accused the singer of hypocrisy for not supporting the student protests.

During the performance, Dosanjh told the crowd that he is staying silent and supports everyone, but added that people should not instruct Punjabis on how to engage in conflict.

The singer also defended his film Satluj, which he said was being ridiculed on stage. He noted that the production, based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, was a long-term struggle for them.

Directed by Honey Trehan, Satluj was released on Zee5 on July 3 after being delayed by censorship, but the film was removed from the platform within two days.

The sold-out show marked the start of the India leg of the Aura Tour, which is co-produced by BookMyShow Live and Live Nation.
