Abhijeet Dipke apologises to Diljit Dosanjh after singer addresses critics

Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke expressed his continued admiration for the singer following a concert in Delhi.

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke said on Saturday that he remains an admirer of singer Diljit Dosanjh, despite being hurt by the artist's decision to distance himself from student protests. The statement followed a concert Dosanjh held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on Friday evening, where the singer addressed his critics.

According to The Indian Express, Dosanjh used the performance to respond to those who had mocked his film, Satluj, and criticised his previous comments regarding the NEET paper leak protests. Without naming Dipke, the singer told the audience that he preferred to remain silent and requested that people do not instruct Punjabis on how to conduct their struggles.

Dosanjh also reiterated his earlier remark that he is an artist, stating that he loves everyone regardless of whether they hate him. He noted that his team had worked for a long time on the film about Jaswant Singh Khalra.

In an Instagram post, Dipke explained that his disappointment in June stemmed from his high regard for the singer and his expectation that Dosanjh would advocate for social causes. He stated that a single misunderstanding would not change his respect for the artist.

Dipke concluded his message by asking Dosanjh to consider him a younger brother and move past the matter. He also referenced lyrics from the singer's song 'GOAT' to suggest maintaining cordial relations with adversaries.
