Diljit Dosanjh pauses Delhi concert to thank CRPF officer

The singer hugged a female officer on stage and said her presence reminded him of his mother during his Aura tour performance.

Singer Diljit Dosanjh kickstarted the India leg of his Aura tour at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on Friday. The sold-out concert featured hit songs and fan interactions under enhanced security.

During the performance, Dosanjh paused the show to interact with a female CRPF officer. He hugged her, gave her a salute, and presented her with a small gift package.

Dosanjh told the audience that the officer reminded him of his mother. He said that after receiving a call from his mother earlier that day, looking at the officer made him feel as if his mother was standing beside him.

The singer also acknowledged the efforts of the Delhi Police and the CRPF in ensuring smooth arrangements. He told the crowd to give the officer a round of applause, stating they provide safety.

The Delhi show initially faced uncertainty after Delhi Police withheld permission due to security and law-and-order commitments. Permission was later granted after organisers BookMyShow Live submitted a detailed security and crowd-management plan.

Following the concert, Dosanjh thanked Delhi fans on Instagram. He noted that he faced many problems while organising the show and mentioned that he had to perform despite rain.
