Vice-Chancellor Allam Srinivasa Rao addressed students during an awareness campaign held in Nellore on Saturday.

Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) Vice-Chancellor Allam Srinivasa Rao called on young people to stay away from drugs and other harmful addictions on Saturday. He participated in an awareness campaign titled ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ in Nellore.

According to The Hindu, the campaign was organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) units I and V of VSU College. The 100-day programme, which is part of a nationwide campaign by the Central government, commenced on the college premises.

The event also included celebrations for National Unity Day. The university used the occasion to highlight social responsibility, national integration, and the importance of a drug-free society among the youth.

Addressing the gathering, Allam Srinivasa Rao said the vision of Viksit Bharat can only be achieved through responsible, disciplined, and healthy young citizens. He stated that drug abuse affects society, families, and individual health.

The Vice-Chancellor urged students to prioritise personality development, physical fitness, and education.
