Wife and two lovers arrested for murder in Telangana

Banswada police apprehended three people for allegedly killing a daily-wage labourer and dumping his body in a lake.

Banswada police have arrested a woman and her two lovers for the alleged murder of her husband in Hanmajipet village. The victim, 26-year-old Gummadi Kashiram, was found dead at Pachera Cheruvu pond on the night of October 23, 2026.

The accused have been identified as Gummadi Savitha, the deceased's wife, along with Chintakindi Ramu, 26, and Pasupula Santhosh, 25. Police said the trio conspired to kill Kashiram because Savitha was in relationships with Ramu and Santhosh.

According to police, the group took Kashiram out on October 23 under the guise of consuming alcohol. Once he was heavily under the influence, Ramu allegedly used a nylon rope to strangle him while Santhosh held his hands to stop him from moving.

The accused then placed the body in the pond to make the death look like an accident. Following a complaint by the victim's father, Chakali Bhumayya, a preliminary post-mortem report led police to reclassify the suspicious death as a murder.

The police have seized mobile phones and other materials used in the crime. The three individuals were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody under Sections 103 and 238, read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
