Over 16 lakh Haryana farmers get ₹325 crore under PM-KISAN
Chief minister Nayab Saini said the 24th instalment was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.
More than 16 lakh farmer families in Haryana have been credited ₹324.7 crore through the 24th instalment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi scheme, according to the Hindustan Times.
Addressing a programme in Bhiwani, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini said Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the instalment from Banaskantha in Gujarat. The Prime Minister transferred over ₹18,680 crore to the bank accounts of more than 9.3 crore farmer families across India.
Saini stated that the cumulative amount disbursed under the 24 instalments in Haryana has reached ₹8,206.3 crore. He noted that the Centre has approved more than ₹3 lakh crore for the scheme up to 2030-31.
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana, who attended the event, said the scheme provides farmers ₹6,000 annually in three instalments of ₹2,000 each. He encouraged farmers to adopt natural farming.
Saini also thanked Haryana farmers for not burning crop residue. He said the state government provided subsidised machines for crop waste management, helping farmers turn waste into income.
Data from the Consortium for Research on Agroecosystem Monitoring and Modeling from Space showed Haryana recorded 29 farm fire incidents between September 15 and October 30 during the Kharif harvesting season.
