Minecraft creator lists Beverly Hills mansion for $70 million
Markus Persson is selling the 22,300-square-foot estate at the same price he paid for it in 2014.
Swedish billionaire Markus Persson, the creator of the game Minecraft, has listed his Beverly Hills mansion for $70 million, according to the Times of India. The asking price matches the amount Persson paid for the property in December 2014.
The 22,300-square-foot estate sits on approximately an acre overlooking Los Angeles. It features eight bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, a recording studio, a movie theatre, a swimming pool, and an elevator.
The property includes several high-end amenities, such as a private nightclub with a DJ booth and bar, a 2,500-bottle wine cellar, and a candy room that reportedly cost $200,000.
Persson, also known as Notch, acquired the home after selling his gaming company, Mojang, to Microsoft for $2.5 billion in 2014. The mansion was originally built by property developer Bruce Makowsky.
The Los Angeles Times reported that if a buyer agrees to the $70 million asking price, the property could become the most expensive home sale in Beverly Hills for 2026.
