BJP launches first trade union at Kolkata airport

National general secretary Sunil Bansal called the inauguration of the union a historic day.

The BJP launched its first trade union at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata on Saturday, according to ThePrint.

BJP national general secretary Sunil Bansal described the launch as a historic day and announced plans to establish similar bodies in other sectors.

Bansal said the new union would safeguard workers' interests and function with transparency and integrity.

West Bengal president Samik Bhattacharya attended the inauguration and stated that the contractual workers' union was being formed to protect workers' rights.

Bhattacharya claimed that fresh investments are flowing into West Bengal and that the state will see a thrust in industrialisation.

The BJP leader also said the party would ensure workers' rights and that the exodus of labour, capital and merit from the state would be stopped.
