TVK government shows administrative incompetence, says AIADMK leader Palaniswami
AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami criticised the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam-led government during a party meeting in Maraimalai Nagar on Saturday.
Addressing the 55th formation day celebrations of the AIADMK in Maraimalai Nagar, Edappadi K. Palaniswami criticised the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government for its administrative incompetence.
Palaniswami questioned the achievements of the TVK administration, noting that schemes like the marriage assistance for women, which includes gold for thirumangalyam, were first introduced by the previous AIADMK regime.
The AIADMK leader said infrastructure work has stopped because of a steep hike in construction material prices. He also questioned why the government is procuring power at higher rates when the TVK regime stated the State power utility has a debt of ₹2.47 lakh crore.
Palaniswami alleged that the government's reign has been marked by rising inflation, growing unemployment, rampant drug availability, lack of security, and deteriorating law and order.
He argued that while the ruling party claims to run a clean government, searches by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption have recovered cash from government offices, suggesting prevalent bribery.
Regarding recent byelections in Madurantakam and Dharapuram, Palaniswami attributed the ruling party's victory to its alliance with multiple parties. He also alleged that while C. Joseph Vijay is not the Chief Minister, three unnamed persons are making all administrative decisions.
