Rajat Patidar will lead Madhya Pradesh while Vaibhav Sooryavanshi takes charge of Bihar for the upcoming tournament.

Rajat Patidar has been appointed captain of the Madhya Pradesh team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which begins on November 14, according to Telangana Today. Patidar, who led Royal Challengers Bengaluru to IPL titles in 2025 and 2026, may be unavailable for the entire league phase.

Patidar and all-rounder Arshad Khan are scheduled to join the India A team for the Men's Rising Stars Asia Cup in Doha, Qatar, from November 19 to 29. In the India A squad, Patidar will serve as deputy to skipper Tilak Varma.

Madhya Pradesh is in Elite Group C and will play its first four matches in New Chandigarh before moving to Mohali. The team will open their campaign against Kerala on November 14.

In a separate announcement, The Hindu reported that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been named captain of the 17-member Bihar squad for the opening two matches of the tournament. Suraj Kashyap will serve as vice-captain.

Sooryavanshi is expected to play against Saurashtra and Railways before joining the India A squad for the ACC Men's Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 in Doha. Bihar is placed in Group B alongside teams including Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab.

Bihar Cricket Association president Harsh Vardhan said the captaincy would allow Sooryavanshi a chance to grow as a leader. He noted that the player has demonstrated talent and maturity at a young age.
