India beat New Zealand by four runs in rain-hit Wellington ODI
The visitors took a 2-0 lead in the five-match series after a Duckworth-Lewis-Stern victory on Saturday.
India secured a four-run victory via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method against New Zealand in the second ODI in Wellington on Saturday, according to the Times of India. The win gives India a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
Earlier, India's fast bowlers restricted the hosts to 134 in 41 overs. Gurnoor Brar led the attack with career-best figures of 4/30, while Auqib Nabi and Anshul Kamboj claimed two wickets each. Axar Patel also took two wickets.
In response, India's top order struggled against the moving ball. Captain Shubman Gill was dismissed for a duck on the first ball from Jacob Duffy, and Virat Kohli was dismissed for seven. Rohit Sharma scored 23 before India slipped to 54/4.
Shreyas Iyer scored 30 off 46 balls to help rebuild the innings. KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 26 off 38 balls as India reached 113/7 in 26 overs when rain stopped play. At the time of abandonment, the DLS par score was 109.
New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell top-scored with 55 runs, supported by captain Mitchell Santner, who made 31. Mitchell described the batting conditions as challenging, stating it was like batting on a trampoline.
The third match of the series is scheduled to take place in Hamilton on Tuesday.
