Swedish firm explores sewage sludge management technology for Yamuna rejuvenation
A Sweden-based company met with the Delhi Jal Board chairman to discuss collaborating on wastewater and sludge management in the capital.
A company from Sweden that focuses on managing sewage sludge has expressed interest in providing its expertise to Delhi, according to The Indian Express.
Representatives from the firm met with Water Minister and Delhi Jal Board (DJB) Chairman Parvesh Sahib Singh at the Delhi Secretariat to discuss potential collaboration for improving sewage and sludge management.
The meeting occurred as the Delhi government seeks international technology and institutions to support its plans to upgrade water infrastructure and clean the Yamuna river.
Parvesh Sahib Singh said the government's priority to rejuvenate the Yamuna has attracted interest from specialised companies and international organisations.
Singh stated that the government is open to working with organisations that provide sustainable, technology-driven, and practical solutions.
The government has previously used foreign technology on the Najafgarh drain, including a Watermaster amphibious dredging machine from Finland-based Aquamec to remove silt, sludge, and aquatic weeds.
