Sharad Pawar admitted to Mumbai hospital for further medical tests
The 85-year-old NCP (SP) chief was moved to Breach Candy Hospital after being discharged from a Pune clinic.
NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday, November 4, according to The Hindu. The move occurred shortly after he left a multi-speciality healthcare centre in Pune to undergo additional medical examinations.
The 85-year-old veteran politician had been staying at Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune since November 2. He was admitted there following complaints of a cough and pleuritic pain, which is chest pain that typically intensifies during coughing, sneezing, or breathing.
Baramati MP Supriya Sule, who is also the daughter of Pawar, confirmed the admission via a social media post. She previously noted that while he was undergoing tests at the Pune facility, his health parameters remained stable.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Pawar by telephone on Wednesday to enquire about his condition. Pawar's aide, Vitthal Maniyar, told reporters that the Prime Minister advised the leader to take complete rest.
Maniyar stated that Pawar thanked the Prime Minister for his concern. He added that Pawar told the Prime Minister he was resting and felt no worry about the country as others were available to manage affairs.
Dr Purvez K Grant, chairman and managing trustee of Ruby Hall Clinic, said Pawar had been under medical observation for a general check-up following his chest pain complaints.
