PM Modi calls Sharad Pawar to enquire about his health
The Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief was admitted to a Mumbai hospital for further tests on Wednesday.
Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday for further medical tests, according to reports from Rediff and News18. The 85-year-old politician had been discharged from Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune earlier that day.
Pawar had been admitted to the Pune facility on November 2 following complaints of cough and pleuritic chest pain. Dr Purvez K Grant, chairman and managing trustee of Ruby Hall Clinic, stated that Pawar was stable and doing well at the time of his discharge.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Pawar over the phone on Wednesday morning to enquire about his health. Pawar's aide, Vitthal Maniyar, told reporters that the Prime Minister advised Pawar to take complete rest and mentioned that Baramati MP Supriya Sule and others were ready to look after the country.
Maniyar said that during the conversation, the Prime Minister told Pawar not to worry about the country. Pawar reportedly thanked the Prime Minister for his concern and told him that he did not need to worry as others were there to manage things.
Supriya Sule confirmed her father's admission to the Mumbai hospital via a social media post. Maniyar noted that the medical reports from the Pune hospital were good and did not show any cause for concern.
