VRL Logistics shares hit 52-week high as quarterly profit doubles

The logistics firm saw its profit after tax rise to ₹103 crore in the September quarter, according to Mint.

VRL Logistics shares rose by as much as 14.37 per cent to reach an intraday high of ₹319 on Tuesday, November 3, according to Mint. The rally followed the company's announcement of its second quarter financial results for FY27, which showed a more than two-fold increase in profit after tax (PAT).

The company reported a PAT of ₹103 crore for the September quarter, up from ₹50 crore during the same period last year. Revenue from operations grew by 20.7 per cent to ₹962 crore, compared to ₹797 crore in the previous year's corresponding quarter.

Operating earnings, measured as EBITDA, rose 46.4 per cent year-on-year to ₹221 crore from ₹151 crore. The EBITDA margin also expanded to 23 per cent from 19 per cent a year earlier.

The company attributed the performance to higher volumes, which grew 11 per cent year-on-year, and improved freight realisations. VRL Logistics stated that higher fuel prices and the rationalisation of freight contracts led to a 9 per cent year-on-year increase in realisations.

The stock's rise comes as a recent share buyback concluded. The buyback, which ran from October 27 to November 2, 2026, involved the repurchase of up to 87.5 lakh equity shares at ₹320 per share, with a maximum outlay of ₹280 crore.
