Sanction 2,000 Indiramma houses per constituency in a week, says MD
Telangana Housing Managing Director V.P. Gautham directed officials to prioritise people living in huts during the second phase of the scheme.
Telangana Housing Department officials have been directed to complete the sanctioning process for 2,000 Indiramma houses per Assembly constituency within one week, according to The Hindu.
The directive was issued during a meeting with district project directors and deputy engineers in Hyderabad on Monday, November 2, 2026.
Managing Director V.P. Gautham stated that first priority must be given to people living in huts under the second phase of the housing scheme.
Gautham noted that people are eagerly waiting for the second phase following the success of the first phase of the project.
Under the first phase, approximately 3.3 lakh houses were sanctioned, and construction for around 2 lakh of these has been completed.
The meeting also addressed the selection process, remedies for delays in clearing beneficiary bills, and awareness regarding government-facilitated cement bags at lower prices.
Officials were told to coordinate house allocation with district in-charge ministers and public representatives.
Project directors were also asked to inform people about the option to self-upload house photos online to prevent delays in bill clearances.
