Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed support for singer Qazi Touqeer, who is currently a contestant on the reality show Bigg Boss 20. According to reports by Prabhat Khabar and Times Now, the Chief Minister discussed Touqeer's journey during a podcast with journalist Shubhankar Mishra.
Abdullah stated that he is familiar with the singer and has followed his activities through newspaper reports. He recalled Touqeer winning the singing reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005, noting that the win was unexpected as Arijit Singh was also a contestant that season.
The Chief Minister mentioned seeing Touqeer perform at concerts and praised his singing talent. He also noted reading about recent arguments in the Bigg Boss house and a recent interaction involving host Salman Khan.
Comparing a potential win to recent sporting achievements, Abdullah said that if Touqeer wins the Bigg Boss trophy, it would be great. He added, "Then, I will vote for him," after learning that the winner is decided by public voting.
