Marico net profit rises 31 per cent amid West Asia tensions
The consumer goods company reported a revenue increase to ₹3,897 crore while flagging potential input cost pressures from geopolitical issues.
Consumer goods manufacturer Marico reported a 31 per cent rise in net profit to ₹550 crore, according to the Economic Times, on Monday. The company also saw its consolidated revenue grow by 13 per cent to ₹3,897 crore.
Managing director and chief executive Saugata Gupta told investors that geopolitical developments in West Asia have caused higher energy prices. Gupta noted that the company is monitoring how high crude prices might affect demand, especially in rural Indian areas experiencing deficient rainfall.
The company stated that consumer inflation has risen due to food, fuel, and edible oil. Gupta said the firm is mindful of the demand situation in India and supply chain complexities in international markets.
Marico plans to use cost management and brand pricing power to handle these pressures. While the company is considering current crude prices in its outlook, it does not expect a sharp increase over the next six months.
The company increased its FY27 EBITDA growth expectation to the mid-20 per cent range from the previous 20 per cent. Marico expects annual revenue to exceed ₹15,000 crore and has moved its ₹20,000 crore revenue target from FY30 to FY29.
