The Indian Navy rescued all 20 crew members of the pirated fishing vessel Azini during a 48-hour operation in the Arabian Sea, according to ANI. The mission took place on November 2, more than 3,000 km away from Mumbai.

The rescue effort was supported by the Indian Air Force. Mr Singh said the mission showed the Navy's readiness to deal with maritime threats in the region.

In a post on X, the Defence Minister congratulated the Navy for the coordinated effort. He said the personnel demonstrated India's resolve to protect lives and maintain stability across the Indian Ocean Region.

Mr Singh added that India remains committed to ensuring safe seas and a secure, open, and free Indian Ocean Region.
