Class 4 student dies of cardiac arrest during school race in Muzaffarnagar

A 10-year-old boy collapsed while participating in a sports event organised to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Saturday.

A 10-year-old boy died after collapsing during a race at a school in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar on Saturday, according to India Today.

The student, who was in Class 4, collapsed halfway through the race at the Composite School. The sports event was being held to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

School staff rushed the boy to a nearby hospital, but his condition worsened. He was then referred to another hospital where doctors told the family that his heartbeat had stopped.

Doctors reportedly attributed the boy's death to a cardiac arrest.

The boy's father, Pramod Kumar, told Aaj Tak that his son had left home in good health and showed no signs of illness before going to school. Kumar added that nothing like this had happened to his son before.
