Netanyahu is pressuring Trump to launch nuclear strike on Iran, claims Carlson

US commentator Tucker Carlson alleged that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is lobbying President Donald Trump to target an underground facility in Iran.

US conservative commentator Tucker Carlson has claimed that President Donald Trump could decide within days whether to authorise a nuclear strike on Iran. According to reports from Moneycontrol, Hindustan Times, and Greater Kashmir, Carlson alleged that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pressuring the US administration to attack an underground facility at Pickaxe Mountain in central Iran.

Carlson claimed that Israeli intelligence believes Tehran has resumed uranium enrichment at the facility, which is reportedly buried under 300 feet of solid granite. He argued that no conventional American weapon could destroy the tunnels, leaving a nuclear strike as the only military option. Carlson cited an informed observer who said, "Bibi calls Trump about it every day."

The commentator further alleged that Netanyahu's domestic political situation, including struggles to form a government in Israel, is driving his push for military action. Carlson also claimed that Netanyahu made a secret trip to Abu Dhabi on September 27 to seek support from the United Arab Emirates, but was refused.

Carlson warned that a nuclear strike could lead to radioactive contamination of the Persian Gulf and disrupt global energy and fertiliser markets. He also suggested such an attack could encourage other nuclear-armed nations to use atomic weapons.

While Carlson made these claims, no US or Israeli officials have publicly confirmed them, and he provided no evidence to substantiate the allegations. President Trump has previously ruled out using nuclear weapons against Iran, though he indicated the US could target the facility using conventional weapons.

Diplomatic efforts are currently ongoing, with Qatari mediators and Iranian officials holding discussions in Doha. An Axios report stated that Trump and Netanyahu discussed Iran in a phone conversation on Saturday, with Netanyahu pressing for strikes after the US midterm elections while Trump preferred negotiations.
