Motherson Sumi Wiring India Ltd shares rose as much as 13 per cent to a high of Rs 39.70 on the BSE on Monday. According to The Economic Times, the rally followed the company's announcement of a net profit of Rs 223 crore for the second quarter of FY27, up from Rs 165 crore in the same quarter last year.

The company's revenue from operations reached Rs 4,504 crore, which is a 47 per cent increase from the Rs 2,752 crore recorded in the previous year's corresponding quarter. On a sequential basis, the profit after tax (PAT) rose 54 per cent from Rs 145 crore in the first quarter.

Motherson Sumi Wiring Chairman Vivek Chaand Sehgal said the company's performance showed customer trust and strong execution. He stated that business growth resulted from increased customer volumes, more content per vehicle, and involvement in new model launches for both electric vehicle (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) platforms.

The company noted that growth was supported by greenfield project expansions and premiumisation, even with challenges from high copper prices and inflation. Despite the recent surge, the stock is down 20 per cent since the start of the year and remains over 50 per cent below its 52-week high of Rs 53.55.
