The actor says he is not bothered by online scrutiny as he believes the film was made with authenticity.
Actor Saurabh Sachdeva says he is not bothered by public scrutiny or online chatter regarding the film Ramayana, according to the Hindustan Times. The film has faced criticism over its casting choices and visual effects following the release of its trailer.
Sachdeva, who plays the character Maricha, told PTI that the team understood religious subjects could evoke strong reactions. He noted that religious sentiment is fragile, which can cause people to speak strongly.
The actor stated that he is not scared and believes the film is well-made. He said that while dubbing, he felt the project was done in a beautiful and right way, with nothing added just for the sake of it.
Sachdeva described director Nitesh Tiwari as a calm and soft-spoken man. He added that the director's relaxed nature helped him feel less worried on set.
The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as Ravana. Other cast members include Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, Lara Dutt, and Ravie Dubey.
The first instalment of Ramayana is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026. The second part is expected during Diwali 2027.
